HC Deb 21 January 1947 vol 432 c12W
26. Mr. Longden

asked the Secretary of State for War if his attention has been called to the over-staffing of the military medical services in Ceylon; and if he will inquire into the situation with a view to causing a reduction in the wastage of manpower and helping to ease the shortage of practitioners at home by releasing the longer-service men.

Mr. Bellenger

My attention has not previously been called to over-staffing of the military medical services in Ceylon. I have now obtained a report on the subject, which shows that there is no overstaffing by Royal Army Medical Corps medical officers in Ceylon.
