During a visit to the northeast last week, the Minister for Housing and Construction said that, in the next fortnight, he hoped to announce further measures to alleviate the real problem of homelessness. In view of substantial public and parliamentary concern about the problem of homelessness and as two weeks takes us into the recess, will you, Mr. Speaker, in the presence of the Secretary of State for the Environment, join me in expressing the hope that a statement will be made while the House is still sitting?
