HC Deb 05 November 1969 vol 790 c983
Mr. Lubbock

Mr. Speaker, I beg to ask leave to present the humble Petition of the Orpington Nurses and Citizens Association and residents of Orpington and other places, the Orpington Nurses and Citizens Association being an ad hoc organisation formed by nurses and citizens to ensure that the high standards of nursing care which have always been maintained at Orpington Hospital are not jeopardised by the establishment polices of the Regional Hospital Board.

The Petition showeth: Our hospital requires an increase in nurses' establishment and an assurance that staff cuts will not be made in future. Wherefore your petitioners pray that a general inquiry into nurses' establishment at Orpington Hospital be conducted by your honourable House and that the findings of such an inquiry published at the earliest possible time. And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.

To lie upon the Table.
