HC Deb 01 November 1965 vol 718 c612
46. Mr. Lubbock

asked the Minister of Health if he is satisfied that hospital authorities have been following the advice they were given that where an enrolled nurse is appointed as a senior enrolled nurse and has been carrying out the duties appropriate to the new grade since 1st October, 1964, her increased pay should be back-dated to 1st October; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. K. Robinson

I have no reason to believe that hospital authorities have not followed my advice.

Mr. Lubbock

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the National Association of State Enrolled Nurses has had to take up with the authorities cases in which this back-dating has not been followed? I have sent him evidence of one such case and there may be many others which have not come to the association's knowledge, and there is great anxiety in the association on this subject.

Mr. Robinson

I was aware of only one case in which there was some difficulty, which has now, happily, been overcome; but I should be glad to consider any evidence which the hon. Gentleman cares to submit to me.
