HC Deb 15 March 1963 vol 673 c1715
The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (Mr. Iain Macleod)

With your permission, Mr. Speaker, I wish to make a short business Statement.

The business for Thursday, 21st March, has been rearranged to allow a debate until about 7 o'clock on the case of Chief Enahoro. The debate on school building and teacher shortage and the Motion on the Housing (Payments for Well-Maintained Houses) Order will be postponed.

Mr. Bowden

Will the Leader of the House say how it is proposed to handle the business after 7 o'clock? Will back benchers be asked to advise Mr. Speaker of the subjects they wish to raise?

Mr. Macleod

Yes, that would be convenient. After we have disposed of the speeches on this case the time will be available for Private Members, and I should be grateful, so that arrangements can be made for Ministerial replies, if necessary, if hon. Members could find some way of informing me or the Ministers concerned which subjects they intend to raise.
