HC Deb 09 April 1963 vol 675 cc1080-1
30. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement of the number, amounts and incidence of grants and loans under the Local Employment Act provided to the latest date to the appropriate areas in north-east Scotland; how many of those grants and loans were offered and declined respectively; and what were the principal reasons for refusal of the assistance offered.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade (Mr. David Price)

Since the Answer contains a number of figures, I will, with permission, circulate it in the Official Report. I cannot give separate figures for loans and grants. In the two cases where offers were declined I cannot reveal the amount of assistance which was offered or the reasons for which it was declined. Any of this information
