Friend bear it mind that there is a great deal of concern among the teaching profession in Scotland at this refusal of the authorities to appoint deputy head teachers in secondary schools? Will my right hon. Friend do his best to persuade the authorities?
§ Mr. NobleI know that my hon. Friend appreciates that the appointment of deputy head teachers is in the discretion of the education authorities. Accordingly, it is not open to me to intervene.
