HC Deb 13 February 1957 vol 564 c1267
55. Sir W. Anstruther-Gray

asked the Minister of Defence how many Cabinet Ministers have taken part in discussions at the Imperial Defence College during the last twelve months.

Mr. Sandys

Three, Sir.

Sir W. Anstruther-Gray

Will my right hon. Friend consider encouraging more of his colleagues to visit this College, because there could be a very useful exchange of ideas?

Mr. Sandys

Considering that it has been quite a busy year, three is not a bad record.

Mr. Bellenger

Is this limited only to Cabinet Ministers? Was it not the practice before the war that the College had a close connection in one way or another with individual Members of the House, who were able sometimes, perhaps, to give enlightenment to those high officers who attended the College?

Mr. Sandys

Others also have addressed the College.
