HC Deb 25 July 1951 vol 491 c457
32. Mr. Gammans

asked the Lord Privy Seal why the "Cutty Sark" has not been towed up the Thames and used as part of the South Bank Exhibition, as was originally intended.

Mr. Stokes

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given by the then Lord President of the Council to my hon. Friend the Member for Leicester, North-West (Mr. Janner), on 19th February last.

Mr. Gammans

Is there still no hope a t all of having the "Cutty Sark" towed up the river?

Mr. Stokes

None whatever, for the reasons stated; we have not rebuilt the bridges yet.
