HC Deb 12 July 1948 vol 453 cc843-4
62. Sir J. Mellor

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation how many orders are in force amending the Air Navigation (Consolidation) Order, 1923; and why these instruments have not been consolidated by S.I., 1948, No. 1328, which makes further amendments.

Mr. Simmonds (Lord Commissioner of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. The answer to the first part of the Question is "Thirty-six." But, as stated in S.I., 1948, No. 1328, the Air Navigation (Consolidation) Order 1923 was reprinted in 1946 together with all amendments to 19th February of that year. Since this reprint, only one amending order, S.R. & O. 1947, No. 193 was issued prior to S.I., 1948, No. 1328. A consolidated set of regulations to replace the 1923 regulations and all subsequent amendments is in course of preparation.

Mr. Quintin Hogg

Have they come into force?
