HC Deb 05 July 1948 vol 453 c4
11. Mr. Platts-Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what reply he has made to the request of the Marshall Aid Administrator that His Majesty's Government should agree to the retention in Germany of capital equipment scheduled for removal as reparations from the Western zones of Germany.

Mr. McNeil

No such request has been received from the Administrator.

Mr. Platts-Mills

As Section 115 of the Foreign Assistance Act of the United States requires that the administrator shall make the request, will my right hon. Friend be ready for it and be ready to reject it?

Mr. Speaker

That is a purely hypothetical question.
