§ 87. Mr. James Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for War why T-82144 Driver C. Kennedy, 585 R.A.S.C. Newport Barracks, Newport, Monmouthshire, has not been demobilised with Group 25; why he has not received his pay for his present service; and when he will be discharged.
§ The Financial Secretary to the War Office (Mr. Bellenger)Driver Kennedy is in Group 28, not Group 25. He was relegated to Class W of the Reserve for over seven months, and this period does not count towards his service for the purpose of assessing his age and service group. He is due to be released during the period laid down for Group 28, which is from 21st April to 18th May If my hon. Friend will send me particulars of the point raised in the second part of the Question I will inquire into it.
