HC Deb 08 November 1944 vol 404 c1342
19. Sir Oliver Simmonds

asked the Secretary of State for Air the number of enemy aircraft engaged in launching flying bombs against this country which have been shot down; and the number of flying bombs which they are estimated to have launched.

Sir A. Sinclair

I regret that it would not be in the public interest to give this information.

Sir O. Simmonds

In view of the fact that from day to day these figures are announced, what possible objection can there be to giving the cumulative results so far obtained?

Sir A. Sinclair

My hon. Friend may not have observed that these figures are not being announced now from day to day. If these figures were given, the information would, I am definitely of the opinion, give help to the enemy.
