HC Deb 26 January 1944 vol 396 c709

Motion made, and Question proposed, That the Proceedings on Government Business be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Orders (Sittings of the House) for Two hours after the hour appointed for the interruption of Business."—[Mr. Eden.]

Mr. W. J. Brown

Can I put a question? I wanted to ask whether, if it should appear towards the end of the two hours' extension that there are still Members of the House who want to take part in the Debate, it would then be possible to arrange for a further suspension of the Standing Order? Is there not to be any answer to that question?

Mr. Speaker

This is a Motion which has to be put to the House without Debate.

Question put, and agreed to.
