§ 10. Sir Henry Morris-Jonesasked the Minister of Labour whether he will secure a more equitable distribution of domestic help than now exists.
§ Mr. BevinDistribution of domestic workers, as of persons in other forms of employment, is brought under review as a result of registration. Women from 18g50 have now registered and my hon. Friend will see that the greater part of the ground has been covered.
§ Sir H. Morris-JonesDoes the Minister appreciate the deleterious effect this is having on the health of a large number of housewives in this country? How long does the Minister intend to tolerate advertisements in the daily Press asking for an extra maid for a household of two, in which two are already employed?
§ Sir Waldron SmithersWould the Minister give special attention to the requirements of nursing homes and hospitals?
§ Sir Irving AlberyWill the Minister also take steps to prevent the present wastage of woman power which exists in some Government services?
