HC Deb 20 November 1941 vol 376 cc442-3
30. Mr. Vernon Bartlett

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the Government's views as to the probability of invasion, he has yet decided to have photographs or some other indication of identity attached to identity cards?

Mr. E. Brown

I know of no new considerations which affect the main conclusions set forth in the full statement by my predecessor circulated in the OFFICIAL REPORT of nth July, 1940. As stated therein, arrangements have been in force for the issue of photograph-bearing cards to certain classes of persons; and the extension of these arrangements in similar circumstances is constantly under review.
