HC Deb 11 December 1941 vol 376 cc1656-7
26. Dr. Little

asked the Home Secretary whether he has made inquiries into the statement placed before him that men who are not resident in the United Kingdom have access to the secret plans and blueprints of some of the works to be carried out in Northern Ireland; and whether he will bring this state of affairs to a speedy end?

Mr. H. Morrison

My hon. Friend was good enough to send me the newspaper article on which his Question is based, but my information does not bear out the allegation that there is failure to take precautions against the leakage of secret information.

Dr. Little

If the Minister found on inquiry that the Press report which was sent to him several weeks ago was inaccurate, why did he not issue a contradiction, as such statements cause a great deal of uneasiness in Northern Ireland?

Mr. Morrison

The question is the nature of the information which was available and what precautions were taken. In my view, there are no reasonable grounds for apprehension in either case.
