§ Mr. AttleeOn every occasion that the Iraqi Army has interfered in the life of the country His Majesty's Government have not failed to notice the unfortunate results produced. They, therefore, regret the circumstances leading up to the present situation in Iraq, which they regard as entirely unconstitutional. The rights and obligations of His Majesty's Government under the Anglo-Iraqi Treaty of Alliance are, of course, unaffected by recent developments, and they are determined to ensure that the treaty is fully observed.
§ Mr. CocksHave the Government any evidence of Nazi intrigue behind recent proceedings in Irak? If so, are they pre pared to take such steps as are open to them in Irak to suppress that intrigue for ever?
