§ 40. Mr. Thorneasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that Mr. E. Simpson, of 179, Queen's Road, Plaistow, E.13, an old age pensioner, pension book No. 09434141, has been without his new pension book for three weeks on Thursday last; that the yellow note form for a new pension book was sent on 10th December; whether he is aware that several letters have been sent to Blackpool, including one from the hon. Member for the division; and whether he can say what action he intends taking about the delay?
§ Mr. ElliotMr. Simpson removed to Ospringe, Kent, in September last and asked that his pension might be made payable there. On 26th February, 1940, a letter was received from him from his London address stating that his new pension order book, current from 22nd February, had not arrived. This new book had, unfortunately, already been sent to Ospringe. Steps were at once taken to recall it, and on 6th March Mr. Simpson was notified that a new book had been sent to the post office at Plaistow.
§ Mr. ThorneThe matter has been rectified, but I hope that the Minister will correct any other such cases.
§ Mr. ElliotI think the difficulty arose in this case out of a wrong address having been given.
§ 44. Mr. Woodburnasked the Minister of Health how soon he expects the application forms for supplementary pensions to be available; and whether they will 1362 be obtainable at the post offices as well as at the offices of the Board?
§ Mr. ElliotI am not yet in a position to give the date when application forms for supplementary pensions will be available, but the hon. Member may be assured that they will be provided in ample time before the date from which the supplementary pensions become payable. The answer to the second part of the Question is "Yes."
