HC Deb 25 June 1940 vol 362 c284
10. Mr. Cocks

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider utilising the services of ex-soldiers who fought in the last war to act as Army instructors and giving them a short course of training for that purpose with a view to a great acceleration of the process of enrolling and training all citizens up to the age of 40 who have not yet been called up?

Mr. Law

Voluntary enlistment is open to ex-Service men up to the age of 57 years who are considered to be suitable to act as instructors.
