HC Deb 13 June 1940 vol 361 c1382
60. Mr. David Adams

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will state the quantity of non-designated milk supplied by the Milk Marketing Board as food during the last 12 months, and the approximate quantity of the same pasteurised before being marketed to the public?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food (Mr. Boothby)

While I feel that it is not in the national interest to give information relating to milk production in this country, I may tell the hon. Member that 45 per cent. of the milk produced during the last 12 months was designated milk. The amount of milk which is pasteurised varies very extensively from town to town and detailed figures are not available.

Mr. Adams

May I ask whether it is the intention of the Milk Marketing Board to have undesignated milk labelled?
