HC Deb 12 June 1940 vol 361 c1260
32. Mr. Lewis

asked the Minister of Supply whether, having regard to the shortage of paper, he will consider whether in future any more paper should be provided for the publication of those newspapers the contents of which are so contrary to the public interest that the Minister of Information has by order prohibited their being sent to any destination outside the United Kingdom?

The Minister of Supply (Mr. Herbert Morrison)

As my predecessor informed the hon. Member for Blackpool (Mr. R. Robinson) on 8th May, the permitting or prevention of such publications as are referred to is not a matter for my Department.
