HC Deb 22 August 1940 vol 364 c1467
80. Mr. Tomlinson

asked the Minister of Health what is the position of a widow in receipt of a pension under the Royal Warrant of 1914, insured in her own right and now between 60 and 65 years of age; and whether she is entitled to receive sickness payments under the National Health Insurance Scheme in the same manner as a widow in receipt of a widow's pension under the terms of the re[...]ent legislation?

Mr. M. MacDonald

A woman insured in her own right and between 60 and 65 years of age who became a widow before 1st July, 1940, is entitled to receive sickness payments, unless she is in receipt of an old age pension, and this position is not affected by the fact that she may be in receipt of a pension under the Royal Warrant of 1914.
