HC Deb 20 August 1940 vol 364 cc1114-5
56. Mr. Higgs

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, in what respect the activities of the United Kingdom Commercial Corporation, Limited, differ from those of the Department of Overseas Trade?

The Financial Secretary to the Treasury (Captain Crookshank)

The United Kingdom Commercial Corporation, Limited, is a trading organisation, both for import and for export. The Department of Overseas Trade does not engage in trade but is designed to assist and facilitate the operations of organisations, firms and individuals exporting United Kingdom goods to markets overseas.
