§ Mr. SPEAKER informed the House that he had sent the following cablegram to the Speaker of the House of Representatives of New Zealand:
§ "It is with profound regret that I have received news of the death of Mr. Savage. On behalf of British House of Commons I wish to send to members of New Zealand House of Representatives a message of deep sympathy and an expression of their recognition of the statesmanlike qualities of your late Prime Minister and their realisation of the loss 2 which the Dominion of New Zealand and the whole Empire have sustained."
§ Mr. SPEAKER further informed the House that he had received the following reply:
§ "Speaker, House of Commons. On behalf of the House of Representatives I sincerely thank you for the sympathetic message sent by you on behalf of the House of Commons on the occasion of the death of the Prime Minister.
