Mr. SPEAKER informed the House that he had sent the following cablegram to the Speaker of the House of Representatives of New Zealand:

"It is with profound regret that I have received news of the death of Mr. Savage. On behalf of British House of Commons I wish to send to members of New Zealand House of Representatives a message of deep sympathy and an expression of their recognition of the statesmanlike qualities of your late Prime Minister and their realisation of the loss which the Dominion of New Zealand and the whole Empire have sustained."

Mr. SPEAKER further informed the House that he had received the following reply:

"Speaker, House of Commons. On behalf of the House of Representatives I sincerely thank you for the sympathetic message sent by you on behalf of the House of Commons on the occasion of the death of the Prime Minister.

House of Representatives."
