§ The Prime MinisterIn his reply to the right hon. Member for East Edinburgh (Mr. Pethick-Lawrence) on 7th September, my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer stated that he expected to make an announcement shortly on the subject of an emergency Budget. In the meantime I cannot make a further statement on the matters referred to by me in my statements on 26th and 27th April last.
