Mr. De la Béreasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware of the shortage of the water supply and the inadequacy of the existing sanitary arrangements in Evesham; and what steps he is proposing to take to increase these immediately, in view of the substantially larger number of people that the present supply has to serve?
§ Mr. ElliotThis matter is being immediately investigated locally by one of my engineering inspectors. I will let my hon. Friend know the result as soon as possible.
Mr. De la BèreDoes the Minister realise how vitally urgent this matter is? Is he aware that there is no water supply at all during the night in Evesham and that, as a result of the Ministry of Information, 700 additional people are now-being housed there and that at the present time the matter is one of grave necessity which brooks no delay, and will he be kind enough to have a further word with me on the subject?
