HC Deb 14 November 1939 vol 353 cc517-8
23. Mr. Robert Gibson

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that there is much dissatisfaction among the members of an Infantry regiment, at Greenock, in respect that they receive 2s. o½d. ration money, whereas members of the Royal Artillery receive 2s. 6d., and have received 2s. 4d. back money as against 10s.; and whether he has any statement to make on the subject?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

I am making inquiries, but the allowance paid to the Artillery should have been the same as that paid to the Infantry. In any case, both units are now being fed in kind.
