HC Deb 26 April 1938 vol 335 c5
36. Mr. Gallacher

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department the total value of export credits guaranteed by the Export Credits Department to Germany, Italy, and Japan, respectively, during 1936 and 1937?

Mr. R. S. Hudson

Guarantees were given during 1936 and 1937 in respect of the export of United Kingdom goods to every country in the world, including those mentioned in the question. It is not the practice, however, to state the amount of the Department's guarantees in respect of exports to any particular country.

Mr. Gallacher

Can the Minister say whether it is any considerable proportion?

Mr. Hudson

No, Sir.
