HC Deb 22 November 1937 vol 329 c837
24. Lieut.-Commander Fletcher

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any statement to make on the representations from the High Commissioner in Palestine regarding Italian anti-British propaganda in that country; and whether he has information to show that such propaganda is con- tinuing in Palestine and elsewhere?

Mr. Eden

No, Sir. I am unaware of any representations from the High Com- missioner in Palestine on this subject. As regards the last part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Kingswinford Division of Stafford (Mr. A. Henderson) on 17th November.

Lieut.-Commander Fletcher

Has the attention of the right hon. Gentleman been called to an article in an Italian newspaper as recently as last week, which states that a revolt is in progress in the Aden Protectorate, and that the British are using violent methods of repression, including poison gas? In view of the nature of the reply, I beg to give notice that I shall raise this matter on the Adjournment of the House?

Mr. Speaker

It will very likely be out of Order.
