HC Deb 10 March 1937 vol 321 c1131
10. Mr. Liddell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps he is taking to protect British investments in the Leopoldina Railway Company and the Leopoldina Terminal Company, in view of the fact that the directors of those two concerns have not been able to prevent default to British proprietors owing to the regulations imposed by the Brazilian authorities, with the consequence that they have had to obtain a loan from the Brazilian Government?

Mr. Eden

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for North Newcastle-on-Tyne (Sir N. Grattan-Doyle) on 1st February, to which I have nothing to add.
