HC Deb 16 February 1937 vol 320 c986
34. Mr. Mathers

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he intends to take in response to the petition sent on behalf of the staff in the Criminal Lunatic Department, Perth, complaining of long hours of duty and irregular mealtimes?

Mr. Elliot

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 31st July, 1936, to a previous question by him, in which it was stated that the working hours in force at the Criminal Lunatic Department were suggested by the staff themselves. Since then no petition on the subject has been received by the Prisons Department, but if any representations are made they will receive due consideration.
