HC Deb 21 December 1937 vol 330 cc1748-9
3. Mr. Mathers

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether the payments of removal expenses made to prison officers since 1st January, 1936, are still calculated with reference to the old rates of pay or on the new rates obtaining from 1st January, 1937?

Mr. Elliot

The new rates of pay in the Scottish Prisons Service were applied with effect as from 1st January, 1936. The removal expenses of any prison officer transferred in the public interest are calculated by reference to his rate of pay at the date of transfer.
