HC Deb 18 May 1936 vol 312 cc813-4
7. Mr. COCKS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the fact that the Government of Austria has failed to carry out the League's decision regarding the imposition of sanctions upon Italy and, by introducing conscription, has broken other treaty obligations, His Majesty's Government will inform the League, the Austrian Government, and other Governments concerned that in the opinion of His Majesty's Government, Austria is no longer entitled to such defence of her independence as may be afforded by the Covenant of the League and other treaties and agreements to which the British Government is a party?

Mr. EDEN

No, Sir.
