HC Deb 12 March 1936 vol 309 cc2316-7
78. Major CARVER

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether there has been any increase in the export of British milk produce since the establishment of the Milk Marketing Board and what steps are taken by this board to deal with this matter?

Mr. ELLIOT

According to the Trade Returns, the total value of exports of United Kingdom milk products in 1934 was slightly less than in 1933 but more than in 1932. Comparable figures for 1935 are not yet available. As to the last part of the question, the Milk Marketing Board have prescribed a special rate for the sale of milk for manufacture into condensed milk for export.
