HC Deb 02 March 1936 vol 309 cc994-5
47. Mr. GALLACHER

asked the Prime Minister whether His Majesty's Government have given any consideration to plans for the introduction of any measure of industrial conscription in the event of this country becoming involved in war with a foreign power; and, if not, will he consider issuing a statement on the matter in view of the public disquiet?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am not aware of any public disquiet on this subject. The hon. Member will be quite safe in denying any suggestions of the kind.
