HC Deb 02 December 1936 vol 318 c1254
54. Mr. DAY

asked the Minister of Transport what conclusions he has now come to with reference to the construction of a bridge in the neighbourhood of Charing Cross?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

I am awaiting the observations of the London County Council.

Mr. DAY

Is it not a fact that the right hon. Gentleman has had the report for some time, and does he not think it is time a statement was made?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

I sent the report to the London County Council on 22nd July. I have not yet received a reply from them.

Mr. DAY

Does that prevent the right hon. Gentleman giving a decision as to whether he proposes to act on the Committee's report, or does the final decision rest with the London County Council?
