HC Deb 24 October 1935 vol 305 c306
28. Mr. HOWARD

asked the Minister of Health whether he will consider the advisability of taking early action to prevent the reletting by landlords or their agents of all property which may become vacant after its inclusion in a compulsory purchase order, slum clearance, pending demolition; and also of publishing an official notice on the site of condemned property that such property is condemned and must not be relet after the date of the compulsory purchase order under penalty?

The MINISTER of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)

Action of the kind suggested could not be taken without further legislation, and while I shall be glad to consider any information which my hon. Friend is able to give me, I am not as at present advised, aware of any facts indicating further legislation to be necessary.
