§ Mr. EDENThe loan in question was for the redemption of a mortgage. Repeated representations have been made but I regret to say so far without result.
§ Mr. MOREINGIs my right hon. Friend aware that no payment in respect of interest has been made since 1928 and no repayment of capital since 1927, and cannot that matter be brought to the notice of the Chinese Government in a pressing manner?
§ Mr. EDENI am confident that His Majesty's Minister is doing all that he can in the matter, but I will certainly look into the information which my hon. Friend has given.
