HC Deb 11 March 1935 vol 299 cc11-2
33. Mr. TURTON

asked the President of the Board of Trade what Empire and foreign countries imported barley into this country during the months of January and February, 1935; what quantities were imported from each country; and what proportion of each country's import was of malting quality?

Lieut.-Colonel J. COLVILLE (Secretary, Overseas Trade Department)

I will send my hon. Friend the information asked for in the first and second parts of the question a soon as the particulars for February are available. I am unable to state what proportion of the imports from each country comprised barley of malting quality.
