HC Deb 05 June 1935 vol 302 c1844
8 and 9. Mr. VYVYAN ADAMS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs

  1. (1) whether any progress is being made towards a western air pact of mutual guarantee and towards a general limitation of European air armaments; and at what approximate level His Majesty's Government propose to compute parity in the air;
  2. (2) by what date it is anticipated that Germany will have reached aerial parity with France?

Mr. EDEN

I can add nothing for the present to the statements made by my right hon. Friends the Foreign Secretary and the Lord President of the Council and by myself in the course of the Debates on the 22nd May and on Friday last.

Mr. ADAMS

Has my right hon. Friend seen a recent report in the Prague Press alleging that the German Government told London that they expected to reach parity with France in January, 1936, and does he wish to repudiate or confirm that statement?

Mr. EDEN

I wish to say nothing.
