HC Deb 09 July 1935 vol 304 cc151-2
29. Captain P. MACDONALD

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in drawing up any scheme for the assistance of the sugar-beet industry for the next decade, he will consider the desirability of including therein a scheme providing for a flat rate for the carriage of sugar-beet to the factories with a view to ensuring a more equitable distribution of such assistance and providing adequate assistance to those who grow sugar-beet at a great distance from the factories?

Mr. ELLIOT

I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that all relevant factors will be borne in mind in considering the question of future sugar-beet policy.
