HC Deb 02 July 1935 vol 303 c1702
42. Mr. CHORLTON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any difficulty has been experienced during the recent Japanese troop movements in North China in securing the prompt despatch of goods from Tientsin and other northern ports into the interior?

The MINISTER for LEAGUE of NATIONS AFFAIRS (Mr. Eden)

My right hon. Friend has no information on this subject. If, however, any serious inconvenience of the kind referred to by my hon. Friend had been experienced by British interests, I have no doubt that it would have been brought to his attention.

Mr. CHORLTON

Can special inquiries be made into the questions which have been asked about this district?

Mr. EDEN

I will certainly consider that question, but I am confident that His Majesty's Ambassador would send us information if there was any need to do so.
