HC Deb 09 December 1935 vol 307 c546
21. Captain CUNNINGHAM-REID

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has considered the official report of the Furunculosis Committee; and, if so, what action he proposes to take upon the renewed suggestions by the committee of the need for legislation on this subject?

Mr. ELLIOT

I have considered the report referred to, and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and I are now discussing the problem with fish farmers and other interested parties, with a view to the reintroduction of legislation on the subject.

Captain CUNNINGHAM-REID

If the right hon. Gentleman introduces a Bill, will he consider making it less controversial than the last one?

Mr. ELLIOT

I always endeavour to see that any legislation which I have to introduce is as uncontroversial as possible.
