65. Mr. DAGGAR

asked the Secretary far Mines the sums paid by British coal mines in rents, royalties, and wayleaves for the years 1931, 1932, and 1933, respectively?

Mr. E. BROWN

During the years 1931, 1932 and 1933 the estimated amounts paid by colliery owners in Great Britain in royalties and wayleaves, including the rental value of freehold minerals where worked by the proprietors, were £5,135,000, £4,827,000 and £4,828,000, respectively.

Mr. PIKE

How do the actual figures of receipts from royalties compare with the figures of cost entailed in explanation and exploitation?

Mr. KIRKWOOD

Mr. SPEAKER
