HC Deb 10 December 1934 vol 296 cc9-10
7. Captain PETER MACDONALD

asked the Secretary of State for India what is the nature of the representations which have been made to the Indian Government as to the desirability of reaching a new agreement with regard to commercial relations between India and this country at an early date and, if possible, before the introduction of the India Bill; and whether any reply has yet been received?

Mr. BUTLER

These matters are at the moment the subject of active telegraphic correspondence between His Majesty's Government and the Government of India and my right hon. Friend hopes to be in a position to make a statement at a very early date.
