§ Mr. ELLIOTI have recently discussed the position with deputations representative of tithe-payers and tithe-owners, and the views put forward by the interests concerned are receiving my full consideration. I am not at present in a position, however, to make a further statement on the subject.
§ Sir J. WARDLAW-MILNEWould my right hon. Friend consider whether, in view of the widespread dissatisfaction, it is not desirable to have an inquiry to settle finally whether the tithe-payer has a grievance or not?
