HC Deb 13 November 1933 vol 281 c570
Mr. LANSBURY

(by Private Notice) asked the Prime Minister whether the Government propose to publish any further White Paper dealing with the events which preceded the meeting of the Bureau of the Disarmament. Conference on 14th October?

The PRIME MINISTER

So far as His Majesty's Government are concerned, we should be perfectly ready to publish records of previous communications, if this was demanded, but we feel that in the wider interests of the constructive work, of future discussion of agreement, it would be better not to take this course, if it can be avoided. For this reason, the Government venture to hope that the request will not he pressed.

Mr. LANSBURY

On that let me say that we on this side would have preferred to have pressed the Government to publish the papers, but in view of the request of the right hon. Gentleman we do not intend to do so.
