HC Deb 29 July 1932 vol 267 c1810
63. Mr. LEWIS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is yet in a position to make a statement as to the intentions of the Government with regard to the consolidation of bonus and salaries in the Civil Service?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Major Elliot)

The discussion of this subject on the Civil Ser-vice National Whitley Council has now been resumed, and I hope that a further statement will be possible in the Very near future.

Mr. LEWIS

Does that mean that we shall have a statement before we adjourn for the summer Recess?

Major ELLIOT

I hope so.
