HC Deb 12 December 1932 vol 273 cc16-7
26. Sir G. FOX

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the facts that the Irish Free State has not entered into any voluntary restriction scheme for limiting supplies of meat to this country and that the imports of cattle from the Irish Free State for the week ended 26th November were the same as last year, despite the duty, he will Consider taking any further action in the matter?

Major ELLIOT

It is necessary for me as Minister of Agriculture to keep all relevant factors affecting the meat markets under review, and I can assure my hon. Friend that this is being done. He will, however, be aware that many other factors enter into this particular situation.
